Today at our School Readiness Group, we had an action-packed and exciting session filled with games, creativity, and skill-building activities. Our focus was on developing important early learning skills in a fun and engaging way.
We kicked things off with the classic game What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?, where we practiced listening and following instructions. Next up was Red Light, Green Light, another favourite that helped our group work on self-regulation, turn-taking, and attention skills.
Our fine motor skills got a workout with some animal-themed craft activities and dot-to-dot worksheets, helping little hands strengthen their grip, control, and coordination. We also enjoyed a colourful twist on The Floor is Lava – a game that had us matching colours while moving safely and strategically.
Finally, we finished the day in our sensory gym, where we focused on gross motor skills such as balance, climbing, jumping, and coordination – all essential for school readiness.
Our groups are not only about building skills but also about boosting confidence, making friends, and having fun while preparing for the transition to school.
