We had an incredible time welcoming everyone back for the first Sense Rugby session of Term 3 at South Coast Therapy & Support Group! After the school holiday break, it was heartwarming to see our teams reconnect, share stories, and jump straight back into a fun-filled afternoon of movement, teamwork, and skill-building.
The highlight of the day? A surprise visit from our therapy dog in training, Jasmine! Jasmine was a hit with the kids (and adults too!)—offering comfort, encouragement, and the biggest puppy eyes you’ve ever seen. Her presence added an extra level of joy and calm to the session, and we’re so proud of her progress as she continues her journey to become a fully certified therapy dog.
Why Families Love Sense Rugby
Sense Rugby isn’t just about kicking balls and scoring tries. It’s a purpose-built therapy program created by occupational therapists and rugby players, designed to help kids who find it hard to participate in mainstream sports or group settings. It’s perfect for children with sensory processing challenges, autism, ADHD, anxiety, developmental delays, and other needs.
Each session combines movement, social interaction, and therapeutic goals in a structured yet fun environment. Kids build skills in:
Following instructions
Taking turns
Managing emotions
Communicating with peers
Developing gross motor skills
Increasing body awareness and coordination
Best of all, they feel part of a team—and that’s where the magic happens!
