Today, our very own Chris (Speech Pathologist) and Jill (Occupational Therapist) had a fantastic time representing South Coast Therapy & Support Group at the University of Wollongong’s Health Careers Day, held at the Shoalhaven Campus.
Organised in collaboration with the Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) program, the event brought together high school students from across the region to explore a wide range of career pathways in the health sector. Chris and Jill were thrilled to spend the day chatting with students, sharing their journeys into allied health and offering real-life insights into working as a speech pathologist or occupational therapist.
From stories about supporting young clients in therapy sessions, to the variety of career options within community health, they gave students a first-hand look at the rewarding and dynamic world of allied health. The enthusiasm and curiosity from the students made it a truly energising day!
We’re so proud of Chris and Jill for the passion and knowledge they bring—not just to events like this, but to their work every day across the Shoalhaven and Illawarra regions.
A big thank you to UOW Shoalhaven and the RIEP team for hosting and coordinating such a meaningful event that helps bridge the gap between education and career. And thank you to all the students who stopped by to connect—we hope we’ve inspired a few future OTs and SPs!
