We are thrilled to share that Jasmine, our beautiful therapy dog, passed her Therapy Dogs NSW course last weekend — and this week, she made her very first official visit!

On her debut visit, Jasmine and I spent a lovely morning at Anglicare Jean Ross House, where we were warmly welcomed by residents and staff. Jasmine absolutely adored all the attention, cuddles, and pats she received. It was such a heartwarming experience to see her bring joy, smiles, and calm to everyone she met. She was gentle, relaxed, and right at home — a natural!

Why Therapy Dogs Matter

Therapy dogs like Jasmine offer much more than companionship. Their presence has been shown to:
Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression
Improve mood and emotional wellbeing
Increase social interaction and communication
Enhance overall quality of life, especially in aged care and hospital settings
For many people, especially those in residential aged care, just a few minutes with a therapy dog can make a world of difference.

What’s Next for Jasmine?

We are busily working behind the scenes to build more services that will include Jasmine. Whether that’s visits to community programs, group therapy sessions, or special events — we can’t wait to see where this journey takes her. We’ll be sharing updates as soon as these plans are finalised, so stay tuned!
Thank you to everyone at Jean Ross House for making Jasmine’s first visit so special. We look forward to many more heartwarming moments ahead. 🐶💛
