Chris Bogg

Hi, I’m Chris — your friendly neighbourhood Chat Doctor!
I’m a speech pathologist, which means I help people with communication and swallowing difficulties. I work with children, adults, and anyone in between — especially those with complex communication needs. I also have a special interest in voice and vocal health, thanks to my background as a professional singer and voice teacher.

What I love most about this work is connecting with people — clients, families, and my brilliant colleagues. I’ve worked across multidisciplinary teams and love collaborating to provide the best care possible.

Outside of work, I’m all about music and theatre. I sing in public (yes, really!), organise a recorder chamber group, volunteer with the Shoalhaven Youth Orchestra, and act with the Nowra Players. My cat Valerie keeps me grounded — or tries to — and I’ve been known to deliver the occasional terrible Dad joke.

My Story

Meet Chris — Speech Pathologist

Chat Doctor | Voice & Communication Specialist | Musician at Heart

Chris is a passionate and versatile Speech Pathologist with a unique blend of clinical skill and creative energy. With over five years’ experience in the field, he supports people across the lifespan with communication and swallowing challenges — from children on the autism spectrum to adults in supported living environments.

Chris has a strong interest in complex communication needs and voice therapy, drawing on his background in professional singing, vocal teaching, and linguistics. Whether he’s helping someone find their voice for the first time or working on vocal function with a performer, Chris brings warmth, expertise, and a deep respect for the human experience of communication.

He holds a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra, along with qualifications in music performance and vocal pedagogy. Prior to entering allied health, Chris spent years teaching and mentoring young musicians — a path that continues to shape his therapeutic style.

Beyond the Clinic

Chris is deeply involved in the local community — he coordinates a regional online forum for speech therapists, volunteers with the Shoalhaven Youth Orchestra, and is a proud member of the Nowra Players. A lover of community music and theatre, he also leads a recorder chamber ensemble and attends national music gatherings.

At home, he’s kept in line by his charismatic cat, Valerie, who considers herself the true centre of his world.

As for a creative job title?
"Chat Doctor" or "Dictionary Man" — a nod to his linguistic wit, vocal chops, and love of a good Dad joke.
