Disability Expo

At South Coast Therapy & Support Group, we know that community connection and collaboration with other providers are at the heart of delivering high-quality care and support. Today, our team had the pleasure of attending two important local events: the Shoalhaven Disability Expo at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Stadium and the Shoalhaven Aged Care Expo hosted by SCOPE at the St George’s Basin Country Club.

Both expos, held today, brought together people with disability, older adults, families, carers, and a wide range of service providers across the Shoalhaven. It was a wonderful opportunity for our team to connect with the community, meet new providers, and catch up with the many businesses we already work alongside.

Why Community Collaboration Matters

Events like these highlight the value of collaboration in the health and disability sector. By working closely with other local providers, we can:

  • Ensure clients and families are connected with the right services at the right time.

  • Build stronger referral pathways to streamline access to support.

  • Share knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes for people of all ages.

  • Foster a sense of community where providers support one another, rather than working in isolation.

Collaboration is not only beneficial for clients but also helps local businesses thrive and grow together.

The Shoalhaven Disability Expo at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Stadium was buzzing with energy today. Our team loved chatting with families, answering questions about occupational therapy and speech pathology, and showcasing how we support people with disability in everyday life.

We also highlighted our upcoming group programs and school holiday programs, including the popular Sense Rugby program designed to support social skills, regulation, and participation through sport.

It was fantastic to also connect with many other providers offering complementary services, from support coordinators to community organisations. These conversations strengthen our collective ability to meet the diverse needs of the Shoalhaven community.

At the St George’s Basin Country Club, the Shoalhaven Aged Care Expo hosted by SCOPE also took place today and gave us a fantastic platform to discuss services that help older adults live safely, independently, and confidently. Claire, Chris, and Bronwyn from our team spoke with families and providers about occupational therapy, speech pathology, and holistic support in aged care.

The expo was also a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with businesses we partner with regularly, while meeting new providers committed to supporting older adults across the region.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Attending these expos today is part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and collaboration. By building strong relationships with providers across the Shoalhaven, we ensure that our clients have access to the best possible services and support networks.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by to chat, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen these connections in the months ahead.
