Last night, the Shoalhaven community came together in the best way possible—with dancing, connection, and an incredible shared cause. Our team at Shoalhaven Occupational Therapy had the absolute pleasure of joining forces with the amazing dancers at Be You Ballroom for a special fundraiser event in the lead-up to Stars of Nowra 2025.

Held in support of Cancer Council NSW, the night was full of energy, joy, and generosity. From the moment the music started, it was clear: this was more than just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of life, resilience, and community spirit.

Why We’re Dancing

Cancer touches so many of us, and events like these give us the chance to give back, honour those we’ve lost, and raise money for vital services and cancer research. Nathan has been training hard behind the scenes with the phenomenal team at Be You Ballroom—and last night was just a taste of what’s to come.

Our team loved every second. Whether it was showing off some sneak peeks of our moves, sharing stories with the crowd, or simply soaking in the excitement, it was a night we won’t forget.

Thank You to Our Local Heroes

A huge thank you goes out to the generous local businesses who helped make the night a success:

  • Silos Estate Winery – for donating beautiful items for our raffle and auction

  • NowChem – for their generous contributions to the raffle.

  • Bumpy Road Catering – for keeping everyone well-fed with delicious gelato and cookies and fantastic service

It’s local support like this that turns a good event into a great one, and we are truly grateful for your kindness and community spirit.

Countdown to the Main Event

The countdown is officially ON!

We’re just one week away from the Stars of Nowra Dance Night, happening on 17th May 2025. Nathans and Alicia’s full routine will hit the stage alongside other incredible local “stars”—all dancing their hearts out to raise funds for Cancer Council NSW.

If last night was anything to go by, the big night is going to be spectacular.

Still Time to Donate + Cookies for a Cause

Couldn’t make it to the fundraiser? There’s still time to support our journey!

Plus, we’ll be selling delicious cookies for $5 at the clinic this week, with all proceeds going directly to Cancer Council NSW. A sweet way to support a great cause!
