Claire Carson
Hi, I’m Claire — Clinical Director at South Coast Therapy and Support Group.
I’m an experienced Occupational Therapist with over 19 years in the health and disability sector, and a passion for delivering evidence-based, client-centred care. I also serve as a Board Director at BCR Communities and Secretary of the Shoalhaven Professional Business Association. Outside of work, I’m a mum of three, bushwalking enthusiast, and proud puppy parent to Jasmine, who’s training to be a therapy dog.
My Story
Hi, I’m Claire Carson — Clinical Director at South Coast Therapy and Support Group (www.sctherapysupport.au), a multidisciplinary, NDIS-registered allied health provider on the South Coast of NSW. I’m an Occupational Therapist with over 19 years of experience in the health and disability sectors, and I’m passionate about delivering client-centred, evidence-based services that create real outcomes for individuals and families.
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Occupational Therapy and a Master of Health Industry Management. My career has spanned mental health, inpatient and community care, aged care, rehabilitation, and disability services — supporting people across the lifespan in both urban and regional settings. As Clinical Director, I provide strategic and operational leadership across our allied health team, ensuring our services meet the highest standards of care, compliance, and innovation.
My work is grounded in a strong academic foundation. I’ve presented at national and international occupational therapy conferences, and my research has been published in the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal. I’m committed to advancing the health industry through collaborative leadership, integrated service models, and continuous professional development.
Outside of the clinic, I serve as Board Director for BCR Communities, supporting governance and community-based care in the aged and disability sectors. I’m also proud to be the Secretary of the Shoalhaven Professional Business Association, where I advocate for the integration of allied health within the wider business and economic landscape.
But life isn’t all boardrooms and strategy — I’m also a mum to three beautiful kids, and I love nothing more than getting out in nature for a bushwalk or spending time with my puppy, Jasmine, who is currently training to become a therapy dog. My personal and professional worlds often intertwine, and I’m constantly inspired by the possibilities that come from combining care, community, and innovation.
